I remember the old times when I was endlessly going through Guia Óleo and a new type of app (Foursquare) that looked promising.
And then I found your blog for the first time. I was happy and angry because it blew my mind that a "gringa" was giving me (an argentinian) better food recommendations than any local websites around and that's how I started to re explore the food scene in Buenos Aires again and with joy.
I don't live in Buenos Aires anymore, but I come to visit as often as I can so it's great to have this back and I'll cry when reading it from abroad.
Ahh the good Guia Oleo days! And I hope this newsletter can keep that connection alive for you, even from afar—and if it brings a tear or two, I’ll consider my job well done :)
Yay! Excited to see this give live. Your SAVEUR article looks like a delicious adventure. Will it be in the print magazine? I subscribed to it last year ❤️
Glad you are back. I loved your site when I first got here and I’ve been missing it since. As a fellow Chicagoan I think you should try to convince some of your friends here to try an Italian beef as I feel it would fit perfectly with the local cuisine and taste sensitivities.
Glad to have you here! And Italian Beef sandwiches, that's GENIUS. Need to do a (The Bear inspired?) pop up immediately. Must have giardiniera on the side...
I’m excited to learn more about BA. Hopefully you’ll checkout my ramblings as I taste my way around Japan on my pub TASTING JOY. movingjoyaround.substack.com
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. And, my god, I love Somebody Feed Phil. 😍 I lived for years in Santiago, and would hop over to Buenos Aires once in a while and pretend to be absolutely fucking FABULOUS. I miss choripanes way more than I could ever think I could miss a...sausage? 🤣
I used your blog religiously when studying abroad in BA in 2017 and for several subsequent visits. I cook for work now and still think about the food I ate there. I dream of returning, but this will suffice in the meantime <3
Hello from Queens! Stumbled on your work about a year ago while editing a piece about pizza in BA for my site, Eat Your World. I’m in a similar boat as a NYC-based travel + food writer, publisher, and food tour guide in a sea of influencers I have no interest to join! Look forward to reading more of your work.

Always checked your website even if it was not updated! Glad to hear that you are back!
